xyz icon has disappeared

I can’t find out how to turn on the xyz icon? When ever I create geometry or try to edit the geometry eithier edit poly or edit mesh their is no icon. What turns on and what turns it off. thanks.

if it has gone grey then X button is the key to hit. if its not there at all, then i dunno.

Tried x. The icon is not thier at all??????

u could try removing your max.ini, i tend to cut it, paste it else where, and when u restart things like gizmo's and general weirdness get reset, as a new .ini gets made.
worth a go.
