  • I need substitute for color correct plugin!

    I got here a 64-bit processor, winxp64, 4gb ram, max64bit, vray64bit....

but i see NO color correct plugin for 3dsmax9-64 (www.cuneytozdas.com) !

is there any 'substitute' for the color correct plugin? any luck that cuneyt ozdas will recompile a 64-bit version?

with the RC4 it has a built in gamma correction within vraycolour mat, so you can use that once it is out.

If it only corrects colours, will it be of any use to correct bitmaps?

no, but you dont need to cc bitmaps if you have the inport bitmap gamma set in the preferences dialog.

problem is, I don't use colorcorrect just for gamma correction, but sometimes to edit brightness/contrast/saturation etc.

well i guess I'll wait till Ozdas finishes his 64-bit version plugin

As I thought more about it.... why haven't they make this plugin 'built in' into 3dsmax

yeah exactly, if max had the option to do gamma to colour swatches as well as bitmaps automatically, then LWF would be a sinch.

So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

                  AF Material Correct

Anyone tested it already, how does it come with V-Ray ? Any issues ?

                  Edit:
Can someone recall back, if you choose a bitmap and want to set correct, we put gamma 2.2 in the slot. ( with the ColorCorrect plg.)
This new one (AF Material) seems to want inverse gamma values, so the same map to be corrected, you should put in the gamma value: 0.4545.
Or am i doing something wrong ?

                  Best regards,

                    Yes. I think so...
                    I mean - 0.4545 is correct value
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

                        Yes, indeed.
That's a bit ugly as lots of people would actually prefer calling the maps with real gamma values, i.e. 2.2, 1.8, 1.6, 2.5, etc... rather than calculating
                        value = 1/gamma
                        ., IMHO

Sure, but you can buy it and ask 'em to change it
