  • anyone on Flickr?

    here is my profile:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/marclorenz/

it's quite simple to setup and a nice interface.
there are options for social networks (like myspace?).
i joined a vray group, but i don't really know how it works. (i'm probably to old for web 2.0. myspace is a mystery to me )

anyway, if anybody here also got a flickr profile with renders, it would be cool to connect each other in the profiles.

I personally would have hoped for some "pissed" shot, rather than more boring CG
Something like Nikki has up on his very personal website, or Jujubee showed about siggraph.
I can't see how we all need more spaces to showcase stuff, honestly

    But that's me

      I like those renders alot.

Any place you can post free pictures is a good place, especially when you don't have your own website or bandwidth to do so. Flikr is a good resource.

As for my own personal work, I try to keep it as separate as possible from free hosting websites mainly because I want clients to think they have the whole 'well-thought out' package when hiring me. IMO it just looks more professional and you can command a better rate. Ultimately in the end however, it's your images and how easy you are to work with which speaks for themselves.

        studioDIM,

        yeah...i guess that's why i don't "get" myspace.
i don't feel comfortable with putting my private life on the internet.
        there's something eerie about it.

        jujubee,
        thanks...
i did a bit internet marketing and SEO (search engine optimizing) recently, for completely 3d-unrelated things.
what i learned is that it's a good idea to be present on many levels.
the way the internet is developing (web 2.0 blah), monolithic structures are not working that well anymore, if you care about google ranking.
if i had more sites, this guy wouldn't be in google position #2 when searching for my name: http://www.marklorenz.de/
        which is really embarrassing

LOL. That's too funny. Something tells me his music is not something I'd listen to.

            Ahah, Mark, agreed :P
Besides, it came out wrong... i didn't mean YOUR cg was boring
I meant it in general, possibly coming back home late at night in a somewhat altered state, and wishing for fun
And, of course, it's really fun only when it's OTHER people i stare at, never when it's about me
