  • golden ratio/divine proportion

i was just reading about painter X and its divine proportion/golden ratio overlay, and thought - hey, that might help me to create great images!

no, but seriously, with my kind of esthetic sense, it could actually be of a little help

so here's my longshot - has anyone ever encountered a script/plugin thingie that generates a golden ration kind of overlay or something in max viewport?

no, but i thought the exact same as i saw painterX demo videos.
I hope i'll have time to look into it...

I was in an architectural design seminar just last week that was very informative about the history of the divine proportion/golden ratio and how it's found in nature. An overlay to help layout elements in a scene, or compose a shot could be a bit of a help. Actually, just putting that image onto a semi-transparent plane and sliding it infront of your scene will do the trick.

Three years to write such a simple thing! LOL! (not that I'd have a chance of writing anything like a script - I have trouble signing my own name!)

You could always just take an image of it, and use a blending mode/opacity...
