  • flowlines in max10?

I just heard a scandalous rumor that AfterBurn and Flowlines will be rolled into 3DS Max 10. For those who don't know Flowlines is a proprietary CFD app with some very impressive results in the gallery.

It will be a year or so before all this potentially plays out, but it certainly will affect some purchasing decisions around here, and in Max shops everywhere.
    woot!!

    anyone else heard this rumour?
    sounds amazing!
    sounds like BS!

That's the usual "i heard something misinterpreted it and shout it to the world" i assume

Autodesk is working on a unified physics solver named nucleus. This will find its way to max seemingly once it is established in maya. Has nothing to do with flowline (wich is scanline's proprietary fluid sim)...And Afterburn into Max ? Yeah sure

Yep, utter shite. Afterburn is coming out soon as a commercial plugin and flowlines will probably never be sold off - it's a huge app that doesn't have a friendly front end and you need very well trained specialists to use it, hence why scanline offer it as a service rather than selling the package. That said, The moving picture company bought a license of it but they're a huge facility with the man power and intelligence to adapt something like that.
