  • Color Correct for Max 9

    Hi

We have just switched to Max 9 and although I have installed Colorcorrect for Max 9 it isn't loading. Has anyone else had problems with this ?

Also, we are running 64bitMax is this a problem with CC 32 bit ?

    Thanks

    N

Ps Just another observance - Max 9 64bit loaded into the 32bit Program files as opposed to the 'Program Files (x86)' Does this has an effect on uitilising 64bit?

    I don't understand...

Because 64 bits programs runs into c:\Program Files and 32bits into Program Files (x86)...

    Under XP64...

Color correct doen't work under Max 9 64...

    It's Max 9 32bits only...

I have had some problems with cc even in 32 bit max. For instance sometimes when I am trying to apply cc over an existing texture bitmap I get crashes repeatedly and sometimes its fine really weird. Anyhoo when it does crash I just put the cc mod into a blank slot and then copy my material unto it.

        Hi Stilgarna

It is strange but the company we bought the upgrade for Max 9 says that it makes not difference but, I have noticed that Max 9 is horrendously slow for really basic tasks.

I have read the forum comments on Cuneys website and can only hope that the 64bit version comes out soon and as many have said - I would pay for it as it is an integral part of my work flow.

Edit: Also, where is the Autobak in Max 9 ?

Unfortunately, a large number of textures in this particular scene I am trying to re-render have been color corrected. Also, its the beginning that needs to be redone and merged seemlessly with the rest of the animation so variations in tone etc... will be very noticable.

the vraycolor map in newer builds allow you to do pretty much the same as the CC plugin

I don't see anywhere in build 4d that you would specify gamma as 2.2. How are you going about this?

Spoiler Don't select anything below these words

As I remember, it only works on color, not on textures (you don't have any any slots to assign a texture).

lol that is fine. I wasn't talking about color correcting textures/bitmaps as it is not necessary with Linear Workflow. But rather, how do you convert Vray Color Values to their component (standard) Max RGB Colorcorrect 2.2 gamma counterpart?

@Paul Oblomov: Have you tried this AF-video plugin you pointed to? Is it an alternative to the cuneytozdas CC plugin? If so, it sounds promising...

Reading through their website and help files - I don't see anywhere where you can specify gamma 2.2 in the materials settings.

Yap. Using it. No problem. Never used cuneytozdas one And you can try it too - they got trial version.

You can specify gamma for sure:

Sweet. Does it work for 64 bit Max 9? If so I'm buying it...
