1/ Do you offer a "STILL" rendering. Like High-Rezolution images that would take quite some time on a single PC.

2/ Support DR renderings for Stills ?

3/ What is the "Setup-fee" for ? Is this cost per CLIENT or per PROJECT ?

I offer DR and still rendering - depending on the rendertime and scene I use "split scanlines" (after GI bake) or do it via DR on 10x6ghz
I maybe can find a consens with vlado and get a new software licencs to use more then 10 pc (hi vlado - do you read it?)

(I thought the winXP connection limit is the reason for but I wrote in the forum it is a license issue. Can I DR with moren then 10PC on a winXPprof PC regarding the connection limit?)

setup fee is per project and depense on the total GHZhour your project need
50€ for 0-500ghz hour
25€ for 501-1000ghz hour
no fee for more then 1000ghz hour
an project can have 1 or 100 scenes/max files (the moste ever was 73 maxfiles - was fun)

If I dont have any fee I will be rushed by 14yo kiddies to render a "hyper cool spaceship animation" of 20sek the frame and I earn 5$
the same for still images - I invest time, emailing, downloading, uploading, debugging, phone, "babysitting" for just 10$
too much stress - too less benefit
thats why I linked the fee to the Ghz hour the project need

That is a the best rate that I've found so far. It's nice to know that the option is there if needed in a pinch.

Renderfarm

All I do thus far is stills. Usually I run hi-res stills on my machine overnight and I am fine. Lately with MAX 9 -64x I come into a desktop (crash). What would it cost to run one scene and how long would it take. It might be worth it for me.

well - I can not have all plugins in the world
most of them can be removed by
- using pointcages
- collapsing stack
- remove from scene and render in house as layer

it depense on the job

I have the most used plugins running here
all other plugs (puppetwhat ?? fume ...) will be installed if possible or treated special

You are running all those machines through backburner? I am suprised you don't have a more substantial render farm system such as Qube, Deadline, or Rush. Deadline tends to take a crap when the farm gets to big. Plus most other render systems are much more scriptable. Just curious who you are getting Backburner to work with a 100 node farm. After 40 to 50 it made less sense to me. Of course I am used to farms from 60 to 2000 nodes. But your price is pretty good.... I have to say.

as far all runs fine why chance a running system?

I know the other manager software but all of them have pro and contra
price per node
restarting and reloading scene after frames are done
not working propper with plugin X
and so on

I have a folder with more less 10 batch files to remote the farm
my selfmade rendermanager tool
its better to know "how" all is working instead of pressing buttons
if something dont work I can fix it immidently and dont need to ask the support from Frantic .. Royal ..

Yeah, I suppose, it just would not be a proper system for us. We had over 2000 jobs running and logged in the queue within 2 weeks, so we need a robust system.
