Max viewport

Arg.. going crazy here.. worked on a scene in max, rebooted my pc, and started max again, but now the color inside the viewport is gone, it's only grey shaded.. rest of max (buttons etc) are correct.. what's going on here?
tried deleting max.ini, and change the display driver..
(when i change the view, the colors appear, but disappears again when i move inside the viewport)
