  • Pivot Problem?

    Max9 sp1- extension1 32bit

I noticed that when I try to move my pivot point, it creates a moved one, but the old one remains...can anyone confirm this or know what happened? Did I accidentally hit some "hot-key" or something?
    Thank you,
    JR

    update

hmmm, well, at least it still seemed to work, but when I select the object, the pivot still appears in the old location?!

your current transform gizmo is at the center of the object, it's the button after the "view" dropdown menu (after move, rotate, scale) You want to hold the mouse button down and select the top option.

that dropdown can come in handy if you know when to use it. The top option is use the objects pivot point, the center option is use the center of the selection as a pivot point, and the bottom one uses the current coordinate system's pivot. (i think about the only time i find the last one useful is if i want to rotate about the middle of the screen for some reason.)

Checkout help and search for "transform coordinate center" for a more detailed (and accurate) description of each option.
