  • Best GPS system

    Hi

We are looking at GPS systems to help with locating the camera for photomontages and general site information gathering for visual impact studies. Has anyone got a tried and tested GPS that they use to get accurate readings ?

We are presently looking at the Magellan Explorist 600 but it might be too much for our needs.

    Thanks

We use a Blue Logger system from Delorme. We typically leave it on a control point for an hour or so to get the best fix. It'll take observations every 2 seconds and from there we'll just filter/average the observations to get the most accurate position for the control point.

So, just to get this right - you have to leave the GPS in one place for 1 hour to get a good reading ?
