  • bake animation on vertex level

Sort of related to Vray since I can't render. Probably due to the fact that I have lots of skinwrap modifiers, cloth and linked XForm. I figured that it might be due to this and so I want to bake my animations and simulations on vertex level and by that save some memory. Does anyone have any experience in this area? I'm currently exploring "Bake" from ScriptSpot and Max Point Cache modifier.

Point cache works fine and will definitely lighten overheads. It could be a few other reasons though that you can't render.

point cache worked fine. I don't get any Vray exceptions so I guess that did the trick. Thanks for the reply.

An old thread I know, but I just wondered if anyone knew of any scripts or ways to bake in animation on the vertex level. I need to bake the animation and then export so that a C4d user can import the models with baked animation.

The scripts on scriptspot dont seem to work with max 2010

        Any help really appreciated

try exporting to a FBX version 6 (i think its the 2006 FBX version)
It needs an older version for some reason.

It seems that the earlier versions do not work with max 2010..
