  • Print Layout Software

    Hello all,

Just wondering what everybody uses for their sheet layouts.

We have been using AutoCAD for some time now, used illustrator in the past. Tried out the open source Scribus, but it is a little too awkward, we need something a little less specialized.

We have Publisher and we are on the verge of experimenting with it, don't know what will come of it though. We have Photoshop and use it for retouching and preparing all of our images, but it gets too cumbersome and unmanagable with the high-res layouts.

FYI, our general sheet layout is four elevations with a perspective at the top and a title block below. We are wanting to venture further into watermarks and vignettes on the same sheet which is our main purpose of moving away from AutoCAD, so something that handles transparency well is a must.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

if your doing basic stuff (and it seems you would be) then illustrator is more than okay....Iv bought the Adobe Creative suite, that comes with indesign, which is obviously a lot more capable than illustrator
