  • 3D people

I saw an animation about 18 months ago from a website showing an office interior and it had fully textured 3D people in the scene in various poses.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find something similar to use in my current projects, preferably free! haha

My current projects are restaurant areas with serverys so the models would have to suit that kind of environment.

    Thanks,
    Marcus.

    Hi Blitterswitch,

I don't know or any free ones but I've got some of these:
    http://www.lowpolygon3d.com/CCP6/ind...D+model+people

But these look quite good as well

You could try Turbosquid for some free ones.

    Hope that helps,

    Dan

ps. Hope you don't mind me asking but who do you work for in Manchester?

The axyz people work really well, even somewhat close as long as you turn the blur down on their material. I need to invest in some of their newer still model collections.

Just a quick bump, hope nobody minds too much.

I have been looking at a few suppliers of 3d people and have come across this:

          http://www.doschdesign.com/products/...ly_People.html

Does anyone have any experiance of this company or the product? The figures look fairly well modelled but I am concerned that they look a little cartoony overall and lack photo realistic textures that some other models have.

You will see what I mean in this pdf:
          http://www.doschdesign.com/pdfoverviews/D3D-LPP_pdf.pdf

The little animation they have on the main page look good with the models photo textured but the PDF seems to be just coloured models.

I just dont want to lay down £100 and get some right old duds.

          Thanks,
          Marcus.

Wow the pdf on those people looked terrible! I have one of the axyz collections and while I use them in almost every image the posses are really stiff.

Have you tried the evermotion ones? Ive not seen them in action yet, but they look pretty good in their pdf.

Also, from what ive seen, dosch models (and most textures) seem to be gash.

forget the 3d people from dosch or lowpolygon3d, they are rubbish. the 3d people from axyz are the best 3d people i have found so far, as beestee already said, they work very well for far or mid-distance shots. i wouldn't use them for close-ups. if you plan to buy some models from axyz, then get the rigged models, this way you can easily create various poses for your people and you get the ability to animate them or to simply throw some mocap data on them. unfortunatly i cant say anything about the evermotion people. the pdf looks ok tho...

Try the Got3D people...they look way more natural than Axyz. Actually, Axyz kids look great, but we find the adults a little unnatural looking.
