  • Mapping Problem

    Hi,

We´ve got the task, to map a circular way arround a see. Now usualy i would take a Quader , map it with a procedural flor matierial, then bend it untill it is nearly round, and then render out the whole map at once.

Problem now is, the way arround the see is by far to big to get a good texture. Details would be blurred.

So what to do.. is ther some way to bend a uvw map for example ? a procedural circular map for flor ?

    any idea ?

    thanks , tom

You could try a sweep or loft on a circle, with the profile fitting exactly to the center. This would only work if you were using a patterned procedural, such as tiles. You could also do it in layers with multiple sweeps/lofts to avoid distortion, but that could become expensive depending on the size of the floor you are making.

    Hope that helps.
