What a brutal video! Its really tough to see anything in the process of dying...and if it isn;t then there is something wrong. It is a slippery slope as far as opinions go however. My personal opinion on this is basically eat what you want but when it comes down to your survival most humans will eat the little fuzzy cute animal to stay alive. Having said that though....since most of us don't rely on hunting our daily food for survival...unless you count Costco on saturday mornings of course....then you have one of two stances:

-Out of sight, out of mind as to the journey that your steak/burger/hotdog tuna etc. took to your plate.

-Or choose and support a company/method of food processing that fits within what you consider tolerable killing. (strictly enforced standards)

Useless killing is wrong...i think in any sense...except mosquitos and fish flies...oh and horse flies...okay and maybe some spiders. We as humans shouldn't kill anything...just for the sake of killing it. Self defense, sustainence, clothing(when it was necessary) are some of the justifiable reasons i think. Don;t know what else to say...its a disturbing video though....

Holy shit!! I cant believe that they would just let them suffer like that. I would like to cut one of their throats to see how they feel about it. Then again Ive see humans doing similar acts to humans before so its no huge shock I guess but it still struck a nerve
        Cheers,

The other thing is the beef and chickens for the food industry are bred to do just that. And they are generally killed as humanly as possible.

However these dolphins are creatures of the wild and are being savagly slaughtered, its in no way comparable to the beef/chicken/whatever that is grow/bred specifically as/for "food"

this video makes me really sad too....
it´s characteristic for the japanese mentality about animal life.... sorry for these hard words.
and by the way... the japanese kills every year hundreds of whales with the pretences of scientific research. but the whole world knows, that the meat of these poor animals is destined for japanese restaurants.
whaling in japan even is sporsored by the goverment.

...at all, the Faroe Islands, the norwegian, Iceland and greenland do the same...

I wont watch the video, I cant stand seeing animals suffer, but when it
comes to humans and cruelty, nothing surprises me.

                but when it

very true, its a testament as to how far we still have to develope as a species.

I love how people become aware and active when something like this is brought to us on a silver platter. As long as we don't have to find stuff out ourselves we are very eager to boycott entire nations - or at least state so.

I'm eager to see the number of people who will, after watching this, make a trip to their favorite meat-factory just to ensure this kind of activity doesn't go on. My guess is, zero; this only happens far away

Also, since when did bringing out facts need Joaquin Phoenix, a violin orchestra and a kid who just happened to pass by and decided to walk right past the camera :P

BTW this doesn't mean I approve of this.. it's unnecessary.

If nobody in the world ate beef, we wouldn't breed cattle. The world cattle population would go from millions to a few hundred in zoos. For vegetarians out there, is it better that an animal not exist at all than for millions to have a few happy years out in the pasture and be humanely killed for food?

Most animal producers care very much for their animals. My Father-in-Law has a huge cattle ranch and the cattle all roam freely and are well taken care of. People see a video of one producer and automatically assume the rest are like that.
