  • Timewarp Animation effect

Hi could anyone help me find a way of creating a animation effect. I want to move into a interior scene using a timewarp effect i.e. like a dramatic push... then slowing down to focus on a object !

I have looked at combustion but my lack of knowledge of the programe makes me need some advice to see if this is the correct route !

    Hope someone can advise me.

    Kind regards

    Tony

im not familiar with combustion, but there are plugins for after effects that can do time warps that can be key framed i believe.

Set camera speeds accordingly, and use motion blur.
Plugins and post are only good to retouch live action.
Since you have full access to Time itself, within your 3d app, just make us of it

i was going to suggest the same thing, but hey i figured if you can get it to work in post, then all the better. But I have my doubt that it could properly interpolate and blend your frames for radical moves.

from what i can remember of combustion's timewarp, it was pretty cool.
it'll give you a default linear curve representing time, and you simply change it to a bezier curve, making the video slow down, stop or even go backwards depending on your curve keys...how it interpolates though, i can't remember...

of course, as lele said, doing it in your 3d app with proper motion blur and all, will yield the best results, but sometimes the ease and speed of post prod can be a relief

                          as i remember,
there was a plugin called "matrix".. no it just was a script. look at scriptspot.

it didnt work so far perfect as i remember in max8, but that was an intermix of a reactor and particleflow scene..

for a usual animation it could be great.
