    Hello guys,

rayFX rytrace engine...waiting for trace request

cant get rid of it and its really annoying as it slows down the start of the render...
...all the mats in the scene r vray, all the cad stuff has been deleted...

RayFX is the blur rendering engine - any chance you have a standard or raytrace material in your scene?

Go to the Raytracer tab of the Render Scene dialog and uncheck the "Show messages" option.

I am having this problem for some reason. I experienced it a year or two ago, but for some reason, it has re-surfaced. If I switch over to activeshade I can untick the message thing and then it works ok, but, it seems every time I open a scene I need to do the same thing.

What is happening? Its really annoying.
          Kind Regards,

I suppose someone saved the scenes with this option ON.

            Best regards,

The thing is, a) we would never tick this on as we didn't even know it existed, and b) even if we manually save the scene with it ticked off, it seems to revert to being on next time we load it and c) it is now happening with a few different unconnected files.

I get this when there was an autocad object imported with a global architecture material applied. Problem is, even removing it, and making sure there is nothing but vraymats in the scene, does not remove the window, without using the method vlado prescribed.

Hm, then maybe it is stored in some .ini file somewhere?

                      Best regards,

I think Percy is right, it only happens here after an Autocad drawing has been linked or imported.

The problem is when you link an Autocad drawing all the material definitions in that drawing become embedded in your Max file but they don't appear in the Material/Map Browser. You can see them if you open your Max scene as a material library, scan down the list and you'll see all the materials that were in the Autocad drawing listed as 'architectural' materials.

The problem is I don't know how to get rid of them.

Interesting.... this has been happening to me too. It IS annoying. It NEVER happened before, and now it seems to happen more and more often. I will have to see if it has anything to do with AutoCad files in my scenes, but I'm skeptical. If I come across anything, I'll make sure to post it.
