Yeh, I have played the DS and Wii versions and they are just rubbish.
The game which was produced for the PS2 about 4 years ago by Melborne House was amazing though!

Can someone explain to me why the kid had to take the cube to the top of the building?

so it could be whisked away from the decepticons. Seemed a weak move plot wise actually, but hey what ya gonna do.

But let me save you some of the trouble, and say do NOT bother playing the games, CRAP CRAP CRAP
Really badly done. complete opposite of the movie. (in terms of quality)
ROFL - what? you can't read a review? I think EVERY one said to not bother! hehe

Movie was typical Bay....characters we don't care about, empathize with, etc, but decent action/fx. Why does all CG have to be overly blurry? and SPOILER ALERT who knew these HUGE robots could be taken down with a fire extinguisher? I could go on and on, but it was dumb summer fun movie, and really...he DID deliver on the "giant fucking robots" part.

Oh, and I think he blew his wad too quickly on showing us a transforming robot. I would have liked to hear the sound and possible shadow action until the big reveal to Sam that his car was a robot.
              Talk nerdy to me...

Um. I thought it was because a chopper had to pick him up?

                        *Spoilers*
Yeah, but the chopper came from below, from the street, so it would have been a lot quicker for the chopper to just swoop over and get it from him. Also, a couple of the Autobots said "I'll protect you", which led me to wonder why the kid didn't just say "You're 30 feet tall and made of metal, you freekin' do it!" And what would lead anyone to believe that it would be safe in a chopper when it was established 20 minutes earlier that it wouldn't even have been safe in an F-22?

Yeah, I know, I shouldn't have brought my brain to the movie theatre. But I was so happy that I did a week earlier when I saw Ratatouille.

                          ***MORE SPOILING!***

Totally agreed, Yoyo. I could accept giant robots from space coming down to fight their intergalactic war, but trying to "get to the chopper" when two of the Decepticons transform into fighter jets was completely insane.

Plenty of more instances of this. Did you guys also notice that in typical Bay fashion there was plenty of ethnic stereotyping -- right down to Jazz being the over-the-top Black Autobot -- and he's the only one of them that gets killed in the end!

I had the same reaction to the film as most people here -- it was fun to watch, but if you start to think about any of it too long you get into trouble fast. And the sound design was PHENOMENAL. I loved hearing the robots almost as much as looking at them.

Well just say this last night with my GF ( who I dragged along as she didnt really want to see it)

Well she really liked it and I LOVED IT

One of my fav movies now. The 3D was just ..just...just... mind boggling.

                            awesome awesome movie.

The main complaint I had was that I didn't think the robots guns were cool enough. I wanted really awesome guns and I didn't even really know what kind of guns or rockets or lasers or whatever each character had.

I agree about the choppers. I thought: why does he need to get to the top of the roof, even if he gets the cube to the chopper, chances are it will get shut down...as it did.
I think the reason none of the transformers could touch the cube, was because it would turn them evil or harm them or something.

I found that the glasses were totally scaled up. In one shot optimus had the two (guy and girl) in a palm of his hand, then later he had the glasses in his hand that were the size of the actual human. I know they cheated it, but imo it was way too much. Could have used some sort of lazer to scan them.

Overall I didnt like the movie. I mean, the action was great and the cg was great. But without a proper use they become overwhelmed and lose their purpose; often I found that the camera shaking and smear of parts when two or three bots collided were just too much. Im sure it was not an easy task, but shaking the camera everytime something happens is not a good solution. Im thinking of the fight sequence in king kong, when he fights 3 dinosaurs at the same time trying to save the girl. The action was intense. Yet you could very well follow as to what was going on and etc... That is an exellent example of good direction. Here however, it was a smear. More often then not.

Last, overall all of the bots, exept two were underdeveloped; they lacked the cheracter and were very hard to read (silhouette).
The yellow mustang was the best of them all. Loved it. It was super well intergrated into everyshot.
Good movie to see, unique. Thats all I can say.
