    Ha... good luck with that...

Because of the way Windows works, it's nearly impossible to ensure all traces of a program are removed.

The only tools that will work are ones that watch everything a program does... and then they'll only work if they were installed before the program you are trying to remove.

I agree, you can check the
      Code:
      http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspx
filemonitor and regmon. they can capture all file and reg changes/activities during installation, but the list will be big anyway. Good luck.

Well, basically you need to just uninstall it (simple add/remove programs in win). If there's a problem like it still remains inside add/remove menu - u can download MS tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301) which removes any .msi package info from registry.

P.S. Filemon and regmon - they will show you any requests ur proggy does, but it will be usefull only if you know what u'r searching.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

thanks for your tips and encouraging words.

actually i just wanted to now if smt exist like that, cause after a half year my new comp allways needs to reinstall, cause of looots of craps wich allways rests somewhere deeeep from installed demo versions and plugins. so would be nice to hold it a bit longer clean by completely remove all that.

Oh. Try CCLeaner (http://www.ccleaner.com) which will try to remove broken registry entries. It's free. And creates backup files.

                    Seems abit excessive IMO

Then again you probabaly wouldnt rebuild your home machine as often.

try the free version of revo uninstaller
                          http://www.revouninstaller.com/
works a million times better than the windows one and removes everything from the registry.
                          regards
