  • Filling a glass bottle with liquid

Hi, im trying to look the best way of fiiling any kind of glass bottle with liquid this is just for still images.

Y just scale the solid ( "water" ) a little bit into the glass and that gives me a pretty good image. but sometimes when the glass bottle shape is strange or not to symetric i get some artifacts and splochynes.
If somebody knows a better way to deal with this type of situations, i beg some help please. Im working in some parfume bottles and in some cases i got very good images but in some cases very bad ones.

    thanx for the help!

then when i have problems i put the ior of the liquid in 1.0 that gives me more clear results but i think that less realistic too.

have you tried the push modifier?

as da elf suggest, I normally make a reference of the bottle mesh and add an edit poly modifier on top. I delete the outer surface of the bottle, flip the normals of the inner surface so you get a volume of liquid that fits the inside of the bottle perfectly. Then I stick on a slice and cap holes modifier so that I can cut down the water line of the fluid to where I want and then add a push so that it overlaps with the glass surface correctly.

THANKS FOR THE TIPS I WILL GONA TRY IT.

PD: SOMETHING I FORGOT TO SAY IS THAT ALL THE MESHES ARE IMPORTED FROM RHINO AND OTHER TIMES FROM SOLID WORKS.
THAT CHANGES SOMETHING? I MEAN, I CAN USE THAT MODIFYERS TO THIS MESHES?

I WILL TRY TO UPLOAD AN EXAMPLE

Did you ever wonder why the default for typing is lowercase (caps lock off) but they put all of the letters in uppercase on the keyboard? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
