Why the downer on the iPods? I have a gen1 shuffle, a gen2 nano and a gen5 ipod video and I think they are all completely wonderful! Never had a problem with any of them. I love iTunes as well...

Is this heresy in these here forums?

What do you guys use? I am very interested.

Ipods in particular cost a fortune, and i always perceived them as design objects, mainly.

Have to say I'm with Blitterswitch..............I have Gen1 Shuffle and Gen4 iPod colour............they are brilliant.

I have ripped my entire music collection onto the iPod which sits in my longe in a Bose Sound Dock and sounds better than the huge separates system I used to have. Also all CD's are stored in a box in the loft. Made my old lounge seem twice the size.

They are indeed very much style objects, but do also perform very well.

Just my opinion of couse, I also have a Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone which is very good too!

Well I was an Apple convert (switcher) for a while but then I got sick of going back to the pc when I wanted to any downloading or cad or 3d work.

I am now OS agnostic. I don't really give a damn what my apps run on as long as it is quick and reliable, and xp64 is both.

I love the functionality of iPods and they are slim and link so well with iTunes. I hated my old mp3 players.

As an aside note, what is the general consensus on the new iMac designs. I personally don't like them and I feel it is a clear sign that Apple design crew has run its course. It looks more like an HP than an apple, the keyboard is just plain ugly.
