Yeah just checked... standard edition.. damn it. I was pre-ordered back in January. Guess they didnt know about the collectors edition back then or something.
Might go in tomorrow or something and see what I can do.. maybe people order the collectors edition but only decide to get the standard edition? fingers crossed.

the collectors ed has nothing great in it - the 'sound track' isnt the full thing just a 3 track ep

          id save the monies instead.

I cancelled my CE when I found that out, but them I also changed it to the LE steelbook for the same price of the normal one, which is nice.
Someones already found out how to extract the music too, so i'm sorted.

Apparently game posted it yesterday at 4pm...

Can't get it here in the UK until Friday

I am wondering whether to pick the steel case version for £25 or buy it on Steam for £27ish.

Steam is kind of convenient but also sort of restrictive. What do you think?

What. You didn't set aside vacation/holiday time back in January?

I picked it up yesterday and there weren't any on the shelves at the local Best Buy. I had to go to customer service and ask for one behind the counter; felt like I was asking for a dirty magazine or something. I was somewhat surprised at the lackluster launch of the game.

I ended up getting caught up in a mini-ITX build with Intel's new board, and didn't get around to tossing the game in the 360; probably slept better because of it.

I did read some reports that people with widescreen TVs were losing out on some of the screen due to FOV issues?

Well for the collectors edition I was more after the stupid little figurine and the making of dvd..
Still no loss really I guess.

Yep its been confirmed.. both xbox360 and PC... with widescreen you loose the top and bottoms.

I'm somewhat amazed, with all of the fine detail put into the game, that something so simple and basic was erred on.

There have been major issues with the steam copy, so i'd say go physical.

The FOV thing has been corrected in a patch, and its apparently that way because they worked to widescreen all along and went about displaying it differently - which meant when they came to add in support for 4:3, it was easier to add more to the top & bottom instead of chopping it off the sides.

Theres a big technical reason as to why, and its also why you cant change the FOV with an .ini file. Not as much of a disaster as people are making it out to be.

aww man, went to two stores last night and they told me they could not sell it to me if I had not reserved it. One store didn't have it and the other told me it would be 2 days before he could sell it with ought reservation. What, did they only receive the exact amount of the people who reserved? no more and no less? they suck.

Pretty much from what I gather. Best Buy only had a handful of the 360 versions on hand for sale, behind the customer service counter, and the gents at a few other stores had no clue the game even existed.

Anyone having issues with the SecuROM online activation for the PC version?

nope, s2s, no problems with activation here or at work (had to work last night, so I loaded onto my rig there ). I finished my work and played to a little past where the demo left off. Very very cool...

So the pulled a "Pixar" with the aspect ratio then? I was happy to see that Pixar did this on A Bug's Life and others rather than cropping.

oh, and our BB had tons of copies...both versions...we're a small-to-midrange town (100k), so other than a Wii, you can find just about anything here.
