  • rigged hand

    hello,
anyone know where i could find a fully rigged and textured hand model? (bones or biped) i'm looking on turbosquid and 3d02.com and see alot of nice hands but none of them seem to be rigged and ready for animation. maybe they all are and it is just not mentioned in the description??...i dunno. if anyone has come across one let me know
    thanks

i'm still having issues animating this hand. any biped gurus out there? (not getting any help on the area forums )
i've followed the tutorials and setup the biped and mesh how the help files suggest. the mesh is getting badly distorted when i start to animate the fingers...any ideas?
    thanks

It looks to me like the finger next to it probably has some influence on the vertices, and that's why it is deforming as such.

*Edit: Are you using physique? I thought it was generally accepted the skin is the better way to go these days as it has had more improvements than physique. Not that physique won't work, I'd just suggest maybe switching to skin unless you have a specific reason for using physique.

Yup - use the skin modifier and use a lower poly hand if possible - also change the location of your bones in the fingers - you'll get a better result if the pivot point is actually closer to the top of the finger rather than being right in the middle - it'll give you a nicer bunch up of skin as the joints close in.
