  • Backburner mixing 32bit and 64bit?

    Hi Guys,

we have just upgraded around 50 machines to max9 (i know i know) from max8, so we made the switch to 64bit... but the problem is most of the render slaves are 32bit, so when we send a job from a 64bit machine through BB it will only see the 64bit machines, i know there is a radio button in the advanced tab before you send the job for 32bit or 64bit but this just means we cant use all the machines on a single job unless you want to split the job into two files.... is this right or am i going mad! just seems crazy you cannot mix ? i know Deadline can do it but that would cost around $5K to switch... any advise ...

Though not recommended by most people as I'm sure you've read on this forum... we did this for a while in-house with Deadline and I'm sure that this feature is available with the consumer purchase also. At this point we don't really use it as our remaining 32-bit machines serve other purposes.
