    A question for the smart guys. I am trying to solve for C. Can someone help me out?

          That is what I got, but something isn't making sense. Tan(10) X 48 = 8.5. Maybe I am not explaining myself. I'll post more later. Thanks for the help.

                What isn't making sense is that in the drawing, the marked angle is not 10 degrees, it's closer to 30. So visually it looks like C should be much larger than 8.5... but the math is right.

                Oh and as you pointed out in your reply subject, it's technically trigonometry, not geometry. (not trying to be a pedant, really, i'm not)

                    My issue was I was using and on-line calculator. I ran to the store and bought a scientific calculator and things started to make sense
