    Will I be able to upgrade my dual dual core (opteron 265) system with these quad core opterons? I have a Tyan kw8e(I think) mobo.

      look on tyan's site for a bios update specifically saying it supports it.

        the new quad cores socket 940 as well? i have the same hardware as you re:form....sweet if this works

          no they are socket F. 1207 pins - which is where they made a BIG mistake

          because if they were 940 still, then there would be a lot more upgrade sales.
