  • Simple way to imprt 3ds Max camera into AE ???

    Hello,

I'm an old Maya user, converted to max's world now... I'm wondering if there is a simple way to import max CAM into AE.

With maya you can simply import a .ma into AE and it's done...

I know Boomer's lab plug ins... but I'm looking for a plug'ins free solution... and cheaper...

I can't build fbx and go to Maya to export .ma files... I havn't any maya license and I don't want to play an illegal (and unfair) game...

    Can someone help ?

    Best regards...

    Is this the right forum?
    (Edit: well, now it is...)

Anyway. Render your frame in rpf format.
AE can read camera data from rpf.
-import your footage to AE timeline
-right click it and choose animation/import rpf camera.
Now you have camera, but sometimes you have to check
manually, that fov etc. are ok. Just copy those values from
Max camera to AE camera properties.

If I need to render my animation to other format, I later
render black frame from same camera in rpf and use that
    to get camera to AE.

        Hello LarsSon,

Do I need to check anything in optional channels into PRF format file ???

Because when I use RPF camera import into AE CS3 he return : no camera data in the file...

        Best regards...
