  • Texture painting in max (video tutorial)

Here's a video tutorial I recorded to show a method I've been using lately to paint textures directly in Max.
I don't have much bandwidth so I dunno how long I can keep it up but maybe it'll be of help to a few people at least.

Sorry about the "second language English"

Yea the resolution/quality is much better then what you'd get if I uploaded it to youtube, but you gotta click the fullscreen button.
If it doesn't work, maybe try to install the latest version of Flash? I son't know what else the problem could be.

I get an "error on page" message in the IE status bar when I click Play Movie. I also have Flash 9 installed.

Hmmm it doesn't work in IE... problem is I have absolutely no idea why.
I'll try to figure it out.

                      That's pretty cool.

do you have the link to the software you used in the tutorial?

                        It's called Redviewer.
                        www.redway3d.com
It's been mentioned in here before since it's got support for VRay materials and lights. It's quite an excellent plugin. Doesn't seem to get much attention though...
Oh and as an added bonus to the tutorial, You can use texporter with edges off and mode set to vertex color to render out a bitmap of the masks you paint so you can improve them in Photoshop later. Just temporarily change the vertex paint modifier you want to export to "vertex color" rather then map channel and off you go.
