    does anyone remember this?
    http://www.reyes-infografica.com/plugins/npr1.php

as you can see in the animation gallery they have a way of sticking a textured paint look onto objects themself i cant for the life of my find another plugin that does the same thing. this company went out of business a long time ago and the plugin was never updated same thing happened with my favotire grass-o-matic plugin

see how NPR1 has its texture locked to the object. in the psoft NPR plugin i can get the same quality from a photoshop filtering process which isnt locked to the 3d object thats what impressed me about the reyes one

it was something i mentioned earlier and yes it helps biiiiig time. ive got a field of grass to do with animation and this is going to be a huge help

my laaaast resort to getting this hatching look would be to actually texture the model with a cross hatched texture in 4 or 5 different dencities then use a gradient with those textures set to solid gradient with some noise to randomise the edges between textures then set the mapping to "lighting"
