  • Axonometric projection = orthographic view ?

    Hello friends !

i've got today a storyboard, and the architects would like to have an Axonometric projection... well, is it the same like the orthographic view ?

    thx for every little help,

an axon view is like a 3/4 view with no perspective. An orthographic view I believe can be any view, including head on, that has no perspective. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you're right Percy, an orthorgraphic view is either 'top' 'side' or 'end' elevation whereas an axion is a 3d view without perspective.

For the orthographic view, I assume you mean the rotatable user view. It is a type of axon drawing although the way I was taught you start by drawing the plan as you normally would and then rotate it, then you begin building the 3D drawing by measuring up from the plan for the height of the walls, ceiling, etc. It ended up that your drawing was to scale along each of the 3 axis but anything else was stretched or squashed. Your architect may not need this type of drawing though and may just be looking for a non-perspective 3d view.
