  • 3ds max 2008-viewport shadow

    trying to test some new feature in max 2008 but look like opengl is not supported for the real time viewport shadow quit bad but work well with directx. But still prefer to used opengl. how and any idea?

    anyone have same issue...

      sometime i do model in Autocad and insert as 3ds in max. i found out the model as lot of black triangulated mesh in directx viewport and i have no problem in opengl. so i stick to opengl.

        yeah it's a bit cleaner with opengl, especially strange meshes.
        but directx has become a lot faster.
        to answer your question, the new viewport effects are based on directx shaders (coming from the gaming world) and will not work with opengl.

          As far as I understand, any OpenGL development has stopped for 3ds Max; only DirectX is being developed.
