autodesk sbscription

hello all

I want to join the supscription of autodesk this year.
so far so good, but I live in europe and have to choose one reseller from here. I have to pay in EURO and the currency exchange rate is very high, so I asked myself if I could buy the thing in the usa and pay in dollar? is this possible?

if so, then any reseller (homepage) is appreciated.

I am pretty sure resellers are geographically restricted by autodesk but we had a terrible problem with a reseller once and autodesk "let" us go outside our zone to buy from someone else. Gee, thank you Autodesk.

Guess they don't buy into the free-market concept.

well i think there is a law that prohibates that, i'm not sure but i saw something over this on the TV.

was about stuff beeing much higher prices in europa then the US,
for example a levi's caust around $30 in euro $80
cause of some law or somthing prices are kept high

I know someone who has an office in Europe And the US. That is probably more of a grey area then. Might be a way around the import taxes.

What they do is purchase the license in the US, then just ship it to their other office. It saves a bundle. Since a software license isn't physical it's kind of one of those grey areas because you didn't really import it. It's still owned in the US, but the guys in Italy are just using it.

They wanted to do the same thing with computers, but I think that's a little more cut and dry sending a few big machines through customs.

Same computer here cost 4000 usd, vs EU 7000 usd. Ouch, almost double.
