  • 3dsmax 2008 config file

    I have a problem.
    i can't save some preferences like viewport statistics and others.
    In 3dsmax 2008 i can't find the 3dsmax.ini file.

    I'm under a domain with users access file policy...and it would be the reason...but it's strange that i can't find the 3dsmax.ini file.

    What about your 3dsamx 2008 installation??

    Anyone know how to do it?

    Bye

    Excuse for my bad english

    EDIT: i found into C:\Documents and Settings\(user)\Impostazioni locali\Dati applicazioni\Autodesk\3dsmax\2008 - 32bit\enu the 3dsmax.ini file but i can't find in it the viewport statistics options.

    EDIT2:i found how to save viewport configuration. I've set as i want and saved the empty scene maxstart.max into \\domain\USERS\A-M\(username)\3dsmax\scenes and now it works.

      If you're alone, ditch the multi-user mess entirely.
      A lot easier a life, and shorter a path.

          maxroot\installsettings.ini
          change
          useUserProfiles=1 to useUserProfiles=0

          that should work.
