  • nVidia acquires Mental Images

Hmm... Weird. I wonder how this will affect the MI relationship with AutoDesk. Or will AutoDesk acquire nVidia next and own everyone.

There was lot of talk about making MR more compatible with Hardware rendering. I think this is a way for Nvidia to drive workstation card sales for sure. Gelato was not really well worked out for Max and with MR already well built in it gives Nvidia a leg up from where they are, considering the level of sales for max VS Maya or Soft. But MR is built into all of them.....
one renderer to rule them all.....

....but some head is better than none.....

Hmm, surprising, yet clever move. I'm too curious about what AutoDesk will move next.

I hope corporations like Autodesk leave Chaos alone. Big money with profit oriented supervision never brought anything good to development.

            best regards,

            A.

MR needs all the rendering help it can get! Interesting though....
