Watermark

I know this is probably better for a Photoshop forum, but, here goes...
What are people using for watermarking images?
I'm looking for something free or at least inexpensive to use with CS3.
I like it when the watermark gradually fades from semi transparent white to invisible...I'm also open to any good tried and true techniques anyone might want to share or post links to tutorials, etc.

Easiest way is to type in your text with a white background...select the text using the selection tool...then go to image...define as pattern ( i think its in image...or its in one of the other drop down menus), then you can fill the entire image using your defined pattern. Just use a multiply layer and bring down the opacity...and voila a watermarked image.

Once you have the pattern defined you can use it over and over again.
