Can Select by name dialogue be listed Alphabetically?

Is there any way to get the select by name dialogue in Max 2008 to display geometry alphabetically each time it is opened rather than the type of object. Very annoying.

i agree, new selection is slow, and annoying

you can revert to old style

if none of them works (happened to me on my laptop) You can assign h key to "selection floater" which is max 8 style selection tool

Is this the same in 2009?
Because i've done it and ran the script and it's still the horendously slow new style one.
I'm using 'h' assigned to the selection floater, but for instance if i do a selectbymaterial, it uses the new piss poor selection and i have to go and make a cup of tea before it's usable again........

I'm still using the old selection method too, found it too annoying to use the new 2008 system. Whose bright idea was it to change something that didn't need fixing... I find it easier to look at text rather than a pile of stupid icons...sometimes.

Actually each time a new version of max comes along, I have to copy across my 3ds max 4 keyboard shortcuts too
