  • Export Modifier Sets to new computer...

I'm migrating over to x64 and as a result have had to reinstall max. I've gotten most of my settings to transfer over but haven't found a way to transfer over the Modifier sets from the old install. Is this possible or do I just need to set them up again? I still have access to the old machine if necessary.

Modifier ?! What do you mean ?
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

I dont think you can save those off into some sort of file. I have mine so memorized that it only takes me maybe 30 secs to recreate them.

Yeah, they're not hard to recreate. Just thought I'd give a shout out to see if I was missing something like "export set"/"import set".

Paul: The modifier sets are the little buttons on the modify panel that give you quick access to frequently used modifiers so you don't need to access the drop down list.

They are stored in 3dsmax.ini. In order not to mess other things up you can copy/paste just that section (everything in the section [ModifierSets] )

Thanks thorsten, but as percy said, I just recreated them rather easily. Great for future knowledge though and it teaches me too look a little closer at the ini file.
