  • Anyone seen this...

For the first time, since I play with that friend of mine, named MAX... i see this...

The spline is set to Corner/Corner... while dragging to the next point, the mouse line makes these weird curves... After closing the spline it is all OK... straight corners... no probs... but.

    Any ideas... MAX 8 , sp3 ?

    Best regards,

Clearly a case of "Drunken Spline Syndrome".

I've gotten that from max consistently if I zoom in too far or the scene is too far away from origin, leading me to believe it has something to do with accuracy issues, although I still don't understand why it's so hard to just draw a straight line.

Yup, too far from origin. All kinds of wicked stuff happens, if you dare to venture far enough. Versions come and go, and still no sign of a double precision environment... shame, shame...

                thanks to all...
the zoom has nothing to do with it... as it isn't that close...
i more suppose it is due to the origin...

                anyway - strange issue

ive never seen it, but i have experienced similar thing; when zoomed way in, the camera movement is no longer smooth, rather its jerky. Sort of like your spline.
In max the numeric truncation is set to be fairly high, and i think thats the reason for such things to happen.

nothing to do wih video nor cameras... this is a plain 2D viewport...
After moving back the splines into the origin, seems to work the right way...

10x to all of You for the suggestions !
