Paypal email fraud

So just woke up and cheked my email only to see this:

Dear PayPal Member,

This email confirms that you have paid robertoelectronics (roberto211@aol.com) $439.00 USD using PayPal.

This credit card transaction will appear on your bill as "PAYPAL robertoelectronics*".

Item Name: Nokia 8800 Brand New

Total: $410.00 USD


Cart Subtotal: $410.00 USD
Shipping Charge: $30.00 USD
Cart Total: $440.00 USD

So since I dont know who Roberto Iank is, and I know I didnt buy anything I desided to check out the link that they provided to resolve the dispute. It took me here

A paypal like website with virtually identical user interface! I was shocked.
Anyway just watch out there paypal users. I have reported this site to actual paypal, which only goes by webname www.paypal.com
But if I was some one like my dad who trusts every spam email I would surely login hance provide these scamming bastards with my actual paypal info....

Just recently they past legislation that makes a web site owner responsible for any fraud that takes place on their domain.. You don't have to sell anything... they just use your site for a fake paypal page. I had a page hacked about six months ago and the hacker was using my domain for some bank login to grab user names and passwords. I think it is pretty common, but the only difference now is the web site owner is responsible.

People might want to look into http://www.scanalert.com/. They let you know daily if your site has any activity and if it has been hacked they help you rid your site of the offending code. I thought about using the service, but decided to make backup of my site often and monitor it for changes.
