  • 3D clothes

    hello all

I search for a solution to visualize cloth in a rendering.
I have to visualize a closet that's open for showing the interior. the clothes are the catchiest of all objects.

does anybody has an idea to make realistic clothes? they haven't to be 3D.

    I thought of:
    - 3D scanning real clothes
    - lowpoly modeling and use a good texture made from photos

is it possible to use some sort of imagemodeler to do that?
    is 3d scanning an option?
how to make a good displacement map?
    how to photograph the clothes?
    are there other ideas around?

I search in all directions, so please tell it.

    best regards

Is it brand clothing or something, or can it be anything?
If so, Evermotion has some interiors / model CDs with clothing...

thanks for help, but it is individual clothing. I have to make what the client wants.
so I have to make it by myself anyway. and it has to be as realistic as possible.

Lowpoly, then max cloth. Ah forgot.... texturing first
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

I remember there being a number of threads on the subject. Have you tried doing a forum search for "clothes"?

there is a nice tutorial that comes with max 2008 (and 9 I think) that shows how to make clothes correclty from "real world patterns". Then you actually stitch all the parts together and you can hang it on your character (or in this case just a hanger in the closet). It seems time consuming though and I dont know if the modifiers used are 100% compatible with VRay. I don't foresee a problem though.

            Kind Regards,
