Has anyone had any experience with Jashaka, and is it worth using?

I have tried it several times out of curiosity but I realy think it´s worth it yet.

makes me think of the days when I wanted to switch from max to blender. Tried it and very soon gave up on that idea. Same story for jahshaka, although I didnt try it that much as blender, but since my NLE at the time wasn't so expensive and I already bought it before knowing about jashaka, I decided to stick with it which in it's newest form is called Avid Liquid. I am thinking about (and probably will need to) looking at after effects or combustion to complement Avid Liquid...

If however I didn't already purchase my NLE, I would be using jashaka today even though the interface seems a bit "funny" to me. (is jahshaka still free?) I'd rather spend the money on an additonal VRay license or the new RT VRay version when that comes out before buying any other software.

      Kind Regards,

I have heard that VirtualDub is better when dealing with large frame counts.

VirtualDub is not a NLA/Compositing tool tho, is it ??

Back on Topic i'd jashaka has miles to go. It was and still is a great effort, but they had more Webpage redesigns then usable releases sadly.

          Kind Regards,

Jahshaka is ok.. like said, not too usable. In a similar veign i've found djv_view to be pretty useful for viewing larger frames (its a ram player with more options.. pixel aspect, frame rate, timeline to scrub, user adjustable ram cache, proxy half/quarter size loading into memory, etc..) The interface isn't pretty since it was made as a linux project originally, but it works pretty damn well for free checking of hd stuff.
