Hi!
I'm looking for people with some experience with interactively viewing 3d models online. I'm doing a project where a client needs to display different coatings on a sample 3d model. So the focus is on realistic materials, which usually is very basic in these 3D viewers. Baking everything into a texture is an option, but then you don't get moving highlights etc when you rotate the model.
I'm not sure how advanced the realtime rendering is nowadays in these viewers... But some coatings are pretty advanced stuff with metallic '3D' paint effects (effects that change with viewing angle) or mapped bump patterns etc...
Another issue is the need for plugin downloads to view the 3d models.
So if anyone has experience with this, or maybe you're developing such a tool, please let me know.
Thanks,
wouter
