  • Renderfarm Management

    Is anyone using Qube for renderfarm management? I've heard it's an great alternative to backburner, but I want to know if it's overkill?

    We are in the works of developing a server based renderfarm, we are currently evaluating and working with IBM and Apple to see which solution will work best for our company. The bulk of the processing will be for Archicad and Max/Vray and a bit of Maxwe....(can I say that word here?)

    current considerations:
    IBM JS22-> http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/bladec...ers/power.html

    apple xServe-> http://www.apple.com/xserve/

    pipeline Fx qube-> http://www.pipelinefx.com/index.cfm?...ction=Products

    So I figured if we are going top of the line, we should do it right for a manager as well. If anyone has other suggestions to Qube I'm really curious if anyone is using a different system in their production workflow.

    Thanks in advance.. -bk

    This is an interesting thread. We are getting tired of backburner... espescially the latest build. Is there a good alternative out there?

    Unfortunatelly I dont know anything about Qube.

    Is there a rendermanager that is V-Ray compatible? It would be super to be able to change some v-ray settings from a rendermonitor.

      The XServes are a waste if you're not going to run OSX Server on them as they're a bit overpriced purely on specs.

      And since 3DSMax doesn't run on OSX....

      If you want machines optimized as rendernodes, take a look at BoXX's offerings.
