Just want to announce I’ve opened a new website at www.hdri-locations.com where I’ll be selling HDRi maps with matching backplates for use in virtual car photography.

All HDRi maps are in 11500x5750 and all backplates are in 4368x2912. All hdri-locations comes with 1 HDRi map and several backplates so multiple images can be produced from each location. When a purchase is made the files will be available for instant download.

Have closer look at www.hdri-locations.com more examples of what can be done is on the site. If there is any question I'll be happy to help

The sibl format is interesting, but for example, a mapped VRayLight in Dome mode can do all this automatically from the original HDRI. It is intelligent enough to detect the bright portions of the map and direct more samples towards them - even very small bright regions like the sun can be sampled accurately with very few samples. The dome light is also a lot more efficient when dealing with glossy reflections.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

Just a shame it won't support VRay anymore.........
Anyway don't really need the script. just the hdr pictures

I have to look at the Vray domelight the next time.
I still think it will not be able to offer similar controll over the sunlight (color/brightness/shadow). At the moment i only use this object as enviromental light emitter. I doesn't know that it can be reused for reflections and override the BG image.

yep .. i stopped the support for vray, because it drives me crazy to trace for changed maxscript names in every new vray version. It's btw a open script and well documentated, so it will be no problem for someone else to change paramnames in future or add a changed workflow.
