  • after effects??

I am doing a teaser trailer for my party this summer. It's gonna start out looking like a Beerfest 2 trailer and have the scenes from when they introduce the people...Then at the end, I am either going to run across the screen nude or do something extra funny and dumb...It's up in the air...BUT...I want to black bar myself or something... Can I automatically have a Censored bar follow me around...Can I do this in After Effects and what is it called. Ahh...the things I will do for a laugh..

Dude.. if it's up in the air, keeping a black bar on it might be a bit more difficult; with it waving around and all.

        Hi Eric,

It's actually really easy to do in AE, in fact AE will automatically put the necessary censored bars in and do all the tracking for you. All you have to do is load your footage into AE, set your resolution, file type, codec etc. and export the the final cut. Don't worry about the censored bars not being there on the preview they'll be there on the when you show it at your party .

        Hope that helps,

I'd say do it in max. Pop the avi in the background and have a beer bottle or 6-pack in place of the black bar...maybe the bottle should be spewing out liquid...

              lol!

It's actually very easy. There are lots of good tutorials out there that covers these types of things. Here's one: http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html?id=97

In AE look for Tracking / trackers, you create a tracker on your source footage and then create a solid the size you need, small medium or extra large and parent the solid to the tracker.....

just have AE do a track on your... ahem... junk. If it has problems tracking, then you might want to have a talk with the man upstairs.... :P

Well...Thanx to Daniel...I tried his suggestions and showed it to my co workers yesterday...There is NO automatic tracking....What the $@%$....BUT...On a sidenote..Our receptionists wont stop calling me and buying me lunch. The one always calls me "playa"...or is it "player" Whatever it is...I will have to keep that on the low-down....Or Down-low....CAn never remember which one is which.

You could wear some very brightly coloured speedoes so you can easily seperate the colour and grade it to a flesh tone. Maybe put a contrasting tracking marker on it too so you can get a clean lock.
