  • old software... very old...

I'm just doing a bit of spring cleaning and have decided to tackle my 'old software' box in the hope of cutting down on all the clutter that I've accumulated over the years.

Trouble is I get all nostalgic and end up keeping everything! Damn, I need some help!

Can anyone think of any reason what-so-ever why I should keep these bits of software even though I don't have the operating system to run them on any more....

    1) 3d Studio release 3 (win3.1)
    2) FormZ Renderzone 2.8 (nt)
    3) Lightwave 5.6/6/7 (nt)
    4) Lightscape 3.0/3.2 (nt)

I just need someone to say 'don't be stupid Rob, just bin them'.....!!

lol absolutly no reason to keep those. Unless you want to show your children and say: see son, this is what made 3d stuff back in the day
Seriously though, just burn it on a single dvd, if you cant let go of it, and bye bye

If you still have old, free max plugins you could send them to maxplugins.de.

          From their site....

          05.05.2008 - All versions

Site News: Calling all plugin collectors...

If you are the sort of person that collects plugins and has got a collection that goes back years, I'd like to hear from you! I've recently been updating a load of dead links, and I've discovered a number of plugins that are missing and don't seem to be downloadable any more.

I'm mainly interested in plugins from Max 1 to 6, if you've got a large collection and would like to help me out, just drop me a line at the email address at the top of the page. Thanks, Dave.

see if the makers will offer you a "legacy upgrade" then you can get a new copy for almost half the price?
            Kind Regards,

DVP3D - Think I'm done with those bits of software now, none of them could match vray!

nooooooo..... too late! It all went into the weston-super-mare recycling dump today! If you're quick it may still be there, you'll have to do a bit of rummaging though...

Don't tell me, you'd bought it for £1,000,000 as well..... just my luck
