I assume you can easily switch between the custom scene/box/sphere?

Is there much of a speed decrease for that particular scene?

        Count me in as interested.

yep, the speed depends of the complexity of the material u use ,and its quite fast, there is two lamps in scene so can be really slow some times, and u can add more than 1 material, like lightmat, Ill try to make more scenes to be used in diferent situation like light measurment, dispacement previews, but i really have to find more free time

Instalation its so simple, ill try to be more specifick. Just put somewhere the scene with all contents (maps and max file) then u have to go into the material editor options like in the picture.

example : let say u copy the scene in c:\mydocs\3dsmax\samplescene

then u go to material options and follow the steps.
Step 1 : first open the scene that u just copy in C:\mydocs\3dsmax\samplescene\maxtest.max,

Step 2: load camera and light is a must to have lightning i made there.

Step 3: is not necessary, do it if u want to have custom backgound in mat slot, its old kitchen HDRI.

Step 4 : press ok or apply and ok u choose..

Step 5: now u must choose the custom scene that u pick

Step 6: load the custom material and save it in your library to have fast acess to it, then load it into mat slot, if there is allready material that u are working on max will ask u "Discard old material: and "Keep old material as sub material?" well u have to choose second one.. scene is useless with multy/sub materials.

          And u are set.

As u can see in picture 1 there is a custom material loaded into the slot, first material is the material u are working on, the last material is the base plane., other material u can customize as well..
Scene work without custom material as well..

Have fun with it like me, and soon will update scenes with light room one, and displacement test plane.. feel free to help me like customize, add some more details or make new scenes...

          Best regards,

Ahh, we dont have vray IES...

I've got it all set up other than that though, i'll just go replace those in your scene with normal vray lights when i've got time.
                  Thanks!

ah, yes, initaly i have used vray lights, but then i decide to use IES light, its kind of render fast in this scene.. i can provide u with the old version, but render prety slow... u decide...
