    Howdy,

I am trying to get some good trees going here, but it seems each library has its issues. I think XFrog is my library of choice, but I am having a heck of a time getting rid of the white border around all my leafs. I think the issues is the actually leaf texture map. When I open the leafs in PS I can see that the map itself has a white border. Other then going in and carefully painting over all the white borders what are my options? Is this how everyone else is handling this? In my renders my leafs are just as white as they are green. Here is the leaf of a tree I am working on now.

in your map settings, turn the blur down to zero...this will get rid of the white edge.

      blur

I had it at .01, but I'll try 0, thanks.

        blur

When I put 0 in the field it defaults to .01. I did notice that although I put .01 in my max file after I merged it into my scene it was back to 1.1. I changed it back to .01. I'll let you know how it is working.

Turning the bitmap filtering to "off" will accomplish the same as setting the blur to 0.

Make sure you are setting the blur of your opacity map to 0 (or .01 as it were). Setting the diffuse map's blur to 0 won't do much to help your situation.

That doesn't look like an alpha/fringe issue - it looks like light spill on the photo.

I think the best way to correct it is - in photoshop - add a new layer, fill with green and set the layer to darken.

Then adjust the color layer (via levels or hue saturation) till it darkens the bright spill areas.
