  • Onyx question

From when I had Onyx at my previous job (don't yet have it here, haven't needed it yet!), the options for leaf shape were very limited. Unless I had a whacky canadian leaf, I was pretty much stuck with diamond shaped ones. Is there anyway to do stuff like add more divisions and add curl and stuff? Or are there any tricks people use to replace the leaves en-masse in Max?

plates would be the only thing that adds curls and divisions. Treestorm used to let you rplace the plates with any kind of leaf shape you wanted but it was crashing max in max 2008 and max 9 so onyx removed the sub-object ability from treestorm. Now the only option is muti-sub material.

Having said that, what i do is to select the leaves out, separate them from the branches and use them as a scatter object for a custom leaf or custom flower or custom fruit.

Nice, remove it rather than fix it. Thanks for the work-around tips

hey nice tip. I didn't realize till just now they eliminated the sub-object geometry replacement feature. Bastards!
