SOLVED.

for the record when BB returns the message missing maps - it actually means maps, proxies, xrefs etc etc....

but im sure you all knew that anyway!

looks like you already have a solution, but to add to the crappiness....

open a material library that has one material where the map is missing. Now forget you ever opened it, save a few times, then submit a job.

What's that? Your render isn't working? Yeah, for some crappy reason the Renderfarm actually checks your material library and will give you an error for it.

THAT's how sh*tty backburner is.
